Interactive Wall for Rusatom Overseas at ATOMEXPO 2019

Customer's background

Rusatom Overseas is a subsidiary of Rosatom, responsible for promoting the State Corporation's specialized projects in foreign markets.

Task

To develop an interactive presentation that will make the exhibition guests spend more time at the stand and help the stand managers clearly expose the 4 main areas of the company's activities.

Solution

We have created an interactive projection wall, where four objects were placed, NPP, low capacity NPP, OFPU, and CNST surrounded by infrastructure elements.

The Ariseum team has developed animated 3D models of 4 objects, which are a Nuclear Power Plant, a Low Capacity Nuclear Power Plant, an Optimized Floating Power Unit, and a Center For Nuclear Science and Technology. There is an info-graphic insert next to each object that explains in detail the technical characteristics of each infrastructure element.

How it works

The exhibition stand houses 2 Epson short-focus projectors that reflect onto a flat wall with contours drawn on it. The user goes to the interactive wall and clicks on any of the 4 objects. For example, the Low-Power Nuclear Power Plant is animated and displays its arranged parts when the user clicks on it. Energy flows from the plant to a quarry and to work settlement. It hums with activity when cars drive, excavators and cranes work. When clicking on the NPP, electricity is supplied to the city. Lights are lit in the houses and planes take off.

The Center of Nuclear Science and Technology also comes to life at a touch, which displays how it is built in parts and the windows light up. The field near the center is sown with wheat, apple trees, and watermelons. A plane flies over the planted plants and waters the future crops. When clicking on the Floating Power Unit, it starts moving towards the pier and gets moored. Energy flows into the city, buses go along the roads, and the builiding’s windows light up.

Equipment

Intel Core i7-based workstation, two Epson Ui-1460 short-focus projectors and switches.

Result

The interactive stand attracted many visitors to the exhibition. They noted the innovative implementation, dynamism, drawing of the presentation objects, and the opportunity to interact with the wall. The Project was highly praised by Rosatom's Director General A. E. Likhacheva. The interactive wall was installed in RAOS's central office.
