Customer‘s background

The project was executed for the division of SC Rosatom. It is a branch integrator for the areas of "smart city" and "clean water" and it concentrates on managing assets of the energy and communal complex. The company is in charge of TPP and heating networks in 17 regions of the Russian Federation. Its main activity is a modernization and increase of reliability of energy supply for cities using intelligent technologies aimed at development of urban infrastructure.

Task

To create a presentation telling about the directions of the customer’s activities related to the development of urban infrastructure for the international forum Atomexpo 2022, the largest event of the world nuclear industry, which shapes trends of its further development. The aim of the project is to demonstrate the possibilities of applying modern digital solutions to improve the quality of life in an urban environment.

Solution

The ArPoint team has developed a project represents the hardware-software complex consists of a main screen, composition of the city‘s buildings located on the substrate screen, an auxiliary screen with an animated logo, and a touchscreen table to manage all multimedia presentation content.

The architectural composition as buildings made of transparent polymers represents the objects of the city environment - administration building, desalination complex, water utility, TPP, transport interchanges. The main screen videos developed in the shortest possible time are synchronized with the substrate screen content.

How it works

Using the touchscreen table interface, the user chooses the appropriate section of the customer’s activity, and launches on the substrate screen a colorful animation with special effects (VFX) shows the relationship of management organizations and city infrastructure. The buildings engaged in the video are colorfully illuminated. On the touchscreen table, the visitor can get detailed information about the company’s activities, as well as go to the control console to get acquainted with the system in real time.

What we‘ve provided

ArPoint specialists have written a scenario for multimedia content and developed videos for four directions of a customer’s activity; for the main screen and the substrate screen in two languages. The videos contain 3D graphics, VFX special effects and infographics. For the touchscreen table, our specialists have developed the interface design and software to manage the video content on three screens simultaneously. To change the color and intensity of the lighting of the buildings on the substrate screen, a special system has been developed. It allows to adjust these parameters for each building individually in any scenario. Objects of city infrastructure layout were printed by means of 3d printer from transparent polymers.

The complex was delivered to the place of the event, installation and dismantling of the exhibition were provided.

We have developed:

• architectural models of the layout for the demonstration of the buildings on the substrate screen;
• 3D branding videos for the main screen;
• 3D supporting videos for demonstration on the substrate screen and additional screen;
• application to adjust the backlight on the substrate-screen;
• a touch table application that launches video content on different screens and shows additional information for each direction.

Result
