Interactive AR stand at the Retail Tech 2021 for the Gazprombank

Customer's background

JSC Gazprombank is one of the largest universal financial institutions in Russia providing a wide range of banking, financial and investment products and services to corporate and private clients, financial institutions, institutional and private investors. The bank is one of the three largest banks in Russia in all key indicators and ranks third in the list of Central and Eastern Europe banks by equity capital.

Task

To develop an AR mobile app for iOS and Android for the customer at the Retail Tech 2021 exhibition. The mobile app will tell visitors about the activities and values of Gazprombank JSC in a playful way.

Solution

We chose an interactive quest as the method of submission, which led visitors through the stands and attracted attention to the Gazprombank site. The quest was implemented in the form of an AR mobile app. Markers-QR codes were hidden on the stands of other participants of the event.

At the stand of Gazprombank, visitors can find a mobile game with the main character, a robot, who needs to pass three levels of the dungeon and collect the necessary elements, as well as an interactive eco-box telling about the project of processing plastic cards by Gazprombank together with the Wallet mobile app.

How it works

A forum visitor downloads the app to his device from the AppStore or GooglePlay. After launching the app, the instructions for completing the quest are shown. Then a screen with a marker scanner appears. The markers are divided into two groups: “HelloGPB " and "Explorer". Each group has 5 markers, but all 10 must be collected within an hour. A timer is on the screen. Each of the markers contains a question with three possible answers. For each correct answer, the user receives an achievement. At the end of the quest, participants receive gifts at the Gazprombank stand: thermal mugs, portable chargers, books about science, cardholders.

One of the codes is hidden in the robot game described below. The code appears in case of successful completion of the game.

A tablet with a mobile game in the "platformer" genre with a robot in the main role is installed at the Gazprombank stand. The game is created on the principle of "Mario", it has 4 levels of difficulty. The robot must jump on various platforms, collect gadgets and beware of traps that take lives. The game is not difficult, but extremely exciting.

An eco-box is installed next to the tablet, where visitors can put unnecessary plastic cards. A marker is shown on the edge of the ecobox. When scanning it, an animated video is shown on the screen of the user's device about how plastic cards are processed, and what benefits this brings to the environment.

Result

Visitors of the Retail Tech 2021 exhibition downloaded the app with interest and walked around the stands, collecting achievements, enthusiastically played a robot game and got acquainted with the process of processing plastic cards. Until today, Gazprombank JSC can use the app at other events as a powerful marketing tool.
