AR Interactive Quest at the FINOPOLIS 2019 for Gazprombank

Jointly with Gazprombank, we have prepared an exciting quest for all participants of the FINOPOLIS 2019 forum. 

Each visitor to the forum had a chance to complete four different quests. Participants received valuable prizes for their achievements at the Gazprombank stand.

Customer's background

JSC Gazprombank is one of the largest universal financial institutions in Russia providing a wide range of banking, financial and investment products and services to corporate and private clients, financial institutions, institutional and private investors. The bank is one of the three largest banks in Russia in all key indicators and ranks third in the list of Central and Eastern Europe banks by equity capital.

Task

Gazprombank asked us to create an unusual gaming activity for the forum that would make the visitors smile and add gaming elements to the seemingly standard process of walking around the stands. 

Together we have developed a fascinating quest that guides the visitors through the stands as if it is a game and that finally draws the visitors' attention to the Gazprombank section.

Solution

We created the quest in an AR mobile app. We developed QR code markers that would launch the content, manufactured them, and hid them at random stands of the bank.

To add competitiveness to the activity, we limited the time to complete the quest to 120 minutes. 

Each code found was counted in the system of the app.

The developed app can be adapted to other exhibitions and forums in which Gazprombank participates on both its interface elements and tasks can be modified.

How it works

A forum visitor downloads the app to their device from the AppStore or GooglePlay. When the app is started, it displays the quest instructions. First, one task is given, for example, to study the stands of other banks and find five hidden codes. When the task is completed, it is highlighted in blue and the next one appears. Some tasks required listening a story about a bank, others required going to a café and look for a code, probably after a cup of coffee.

At the end of the quest at the Gazprombank stand, the participants received gifts, such as: Thermo mugs, portable chargers, science books, and cardholders.

Result

The app was highly praised both by the management of the bank and the visitors of the forum. The managers of the stand received endless compliments, hearing comments like “You are cool”, “Awesome invention” both personally and in social networks.  For us, at Ariseum this is the best reward for our work, and in the future events where the bank will participate, we will definitely add new and interesting ideas to the app.
