The AR exhibition in the indoor Exhibition at the «OKO» Business Center. The Project is based on the universal AR browser developed at Ariseum.

Customer's background

«Art Gallery» presents a unique collection of paintings and sculptures by modern European artists. In September 2017, the gallery organized an exhibition of Italian artist Angelo Accardi.

Task

To animate the Italian artist's paintings without changing their appearances.

Solution

Ariseum experts have processed the paintings in graphic editions by such a way as to separate the characters drawn on the canvas and some elements of the environment from the painting. The developers have created a frame-by-frame animation of characters (ostrich, hippo, etc.) according to a pre-conceived script. The resulting video clips have been placed on marker paintings using the universal AR browser from Ariseum.

How it works

Visitors of the exhibition see a message to download an app from the AppStore/GooglePlay next to the picture. After successfull loading and running, the app switches to a marker image search mode. When the device's camera points at the picture, an animated video clip starts reproducing. To achieve a bigger wow effect, the last frame of the video clip is the original picture. Thus, the animation reveals how the artist and the character depicted in the picture have reached this final point in the composition.

Result

In the modern art world, animated painting is a common model to draw the attention of exhibition visitors to the stands. The mobile composition at the Angelo Accardi's exhibition aroused the visitors’ genuine interest, and allowed special connoisseurs to look at the artist's work in a new way.
