We develop interactive AR calendars for our regular customer. Every year we offer new solutions that keep surprising corporate clients.

Customer's backgroud

The international corporation provides technological solutions for information management and documents at home, in the office, and in industrial enterprises, offering a wide range of paper products: Starting from white office paper and up to special synthetic materials.

Task

To add life to a wall-mounted corporate calendar. To come up with a concept for a mobile app that would present in a playful manner the corporation as a technologically advanced manufacturer.

Solution

For four years in a row we have been adding vividness to the corporation's calendars using various AR techniques and releasing mobile apps exactly prior to the date set for sending out the gifts. 

In the first year, we had chosen the option with 3D models that appear in AR on the calendar. Using the customer-provided images for each month, we have developed 3D models that exactly simulate the objects in the picture. We enhanced the models with an effective appearance, movement animation, and sound effects.

The management of the corporation and corporate clients were pleased with the calendars to such an extent that in the second year we repeated the concept, only using different models, images, and special effects.

In the third year, it was decided to expand the already familiar AR with a game-format interaction. We suggested organizing a competition between users to engage in throwing balls into the basket from different positions. The results were displayed in a single leader board. We have developed a visual concept for each season. For example, in autumn, the users threw a pumpkin into a box, and in winter, a snowball into a snowman's bucket. The actions were accompanied by incredible special effects and perky soundtracks.

On the fourth year, we suggested to give life to the calendars' images themselves. We developed its own funny script for each image. Professional designers and animators of our team perfected the images and animated the motions in a remarkable short time. As a result, we got 12 funny videos, precisely repeating the images on the calendar. The videos were displayed in the AR mode on every page.

How it works

The gift package with the calendar contains instructions for downloading the app. The calendar should be hung on the wall in a visible place. After having successfully installed the app, the user points the device’s camera towards the calendar images. The pictures come to life, kicking off animations, special effects, and sounds. On the calendar with game scenarios, the user is invited to race other participants in scoring goals and record their results in the leader board. 

The user can take a photo of the AR content at any time and post it on social media or send it to friends.

Result

Four years in a row, the company's corporate clients have sent excited comments about the original AR calendars. Some asked for additional copies. In the game calendar, a real competition broke out; the game was played by more than 40 people a day, and new results were constantly added to the leader board. Every now and then, the comments like “The coolest calendar of this year”, “A super-gift, well done!” or “Superb as always. Thank you!" appeared on social media.

The corporate calendar has become the best gift for partners and clients of the corporation and gave an excellent example to follow.
