3D models of urban and industrial infrastructure objects, animation and VFX for Schneider Electric

For the Schneider Electric mobile app, developed in Ariseum, we have produced full-scale low poly 3D models of 17 urban and industrial infrastructure objects. We animated life in them, energy audit processes and added beautiful visual special effects (VFX).

Schneider Electric is a global manufacturer of equipment for energy subcomplexes of industrial enterprises, civil and residential construction facilities, and data centers.

Task

To clearly demonstrate Schneider Electric's capabilities, develop groups of 3D models displaying urban and industrial infrastructure outside and inside, including production plants and electrical equipment. Make animation of the energy audit by the company's specialists, add special effects of electric power appearance, and work process.

Solution

After having analyzed all the information from the customer, we developed a universal layout of models, which includes a variety of buildings on which it was necessary to show the work by Schneider Electric specialists.

The plan includes: 

  • Hypermarket, where there are compressors installed inside of it in separate premises, the ceiling area with forced ventilation is shown, the premises of the main distribution board, and main lighting fixtures are highlighted. Dimmers, control cabinets with controllers, filters, transformers and other systems are installed in certain places.
  • Car charger
  • Highway with street lights

  • Wind generator
  • The industrial site for the production of drinks, which includes a production line, ventilation control system, CIP washing, air compressor, boiler room, water intake, technical room, filters, transformers, gas piston plants, microgrid, as well as a control room, and numerous metering and monitoring devices.

In order for the entire infrastructure to work, detailed animation scenarios were drawn up for the movement of cars, people, opening doors and removing roofs to look inside the buildings. The energy audit process was animated sequentially from room to room according to the list of energy efficient measures:

  • Lighting optimization
  • Optimization of the industrial refrigeration system
  • Optimization of the supply ventilation system. (recuperation, admixture control, CO2, humidity, temperature control)
  • GPU installation
  • Improving the energy efficiency quality
  • Optimization of the compressed air preparation system
  • Boiler room optimization
  • Replacing transformers with more efficient ones
  • Optimization of CIP stations. CIPAdviser
  • Optimization of Energy Purchases (RA\PAM)
  • Accounting system

All processes were accompanied by text pop-up messages explaining what exactly is happening at the moment, as well as visual special effects (VFX).

6 modelers, 5 animators, and 2 video designers were involved in the models’ development. All content is optimized to function on mobile devices and works great in the Ariseum mobile app.
