3D models, animations and VFX for Atomenergomash interactive wall

For the Atomenergomash interactive projection wall, demonstrated at Atomexpo 2019 forum, Ariseum specialists have developed high quality models of nuclear reactors, infrastructure, environment, many animations and special effects.

Customer's background

Atomenergomash Corporation is an engineering division of the Rosatom State Corporation.

Task

According to the preliminary scenario agreed on the project, it is necessary to develop 3D models, information windows, infographics, special effects that will show the main activities, and products of Atomenergomash at the complex.

What we have provided

  • Studied in detail the areas of activity and Atomenergomash's products
  • Formed and proposed a presentation scenario and drew a series of sketches
  • Developed 3D models of products, transport, infrastructure, landscape and environment based on agreed sketches
  • Animated 3D models according to a scenario
  • Added special effects and infographic inserts in two languages to the models
  • Optimized the final presentation on performance without loss of quality

Solution

When compiling the presentation scenario, together with the customer, the following objects were selected for modeling:

  • Water-cooled reactor WWER 1200

  • Fast reactor BN-800

  • Water-cooled reactor RITM-200

  • High capacity nuclear power plant

  • Optimized floating power unit

  • Transport reactor facility on the  “Actic” icebreaker

  • Polar ships with a captain's bridge

  • Power line

  • Big metropolis

  • Urban settlement

  • Polar bears

  • Landscape: Plain, coastal zone, and ice

The entire scene is accompanied by animation of models. Reactors line up beautifully on the stage and spin, cities appear and infrastructure begins to work in them while cars drive, and the windows of houses light up. In the north, polar bears walk in the white desert, and the Arctic ice-breaker breaks the ice.

With special effects, we showed the advantages of nuclear power present in cities as electricity is supplied to the entire infrastructure, after which cities and towns start to come alive and receive heat as well.

To make it easier for users to understand the presentation, we animated infographic inserts with technical characteristics of objects, capacity indicators, statistics, and brief explanations about each object in English.

All models, animations, and special effects were developed in less than 2 months. 17 modellers, animators and video designers worked on the project day and night.
